The Anchor Holds

As I became interested in the “sacred threads” program I had enjoyed sewing but never made a quilt till now. I even learned how to do a chain link stitch. I began to pray and ask God to help me come up with an idea of what to do. I really felt God tell me “There needs to be an anchor representing God pulling us out of the deep waters when we began to drown. A member from Lindenwald Baptist church, Kim Davis, had sung “ The Anchor Holds,” which has stuck with me since and still has a lot of meaning to me. I feel close to the Lord when I hear this song. Kim Davis has gone home to live with the Lord our father: who died to save us from our sins. The stepping stones along my path represent my life as a young Christian, to walking away and getting the wrong path; then getting back on track and getting a closer walk with thee! The best place I can be is growing a closer walk with thee. As I look into a new day and see what God has in store for us, I see fences, in prison or out of prison, those fences represent sin. My sunshine represents God's warm hugs on a dark and cloudy day. My flowers represent the fruits of the spirit. My clover represents the many friendships I've made at O.R.W. It represents sitting in the yard talking with friends and encouraging them along the day as we pick clovers for each other.

A personal note from the quilter:

I’m 28 years old, I’m the mother of 2 boys aged 7 and 9. I enjoy sewing, camping, fishing and the great outdoors. I enjoy hanging out with friends and being a support system for my friends as well as sharing the Good news that Jesus saves and is there for us in our time of need.
